Meet Tony Bostic

I'm originally from Ohio, and moved to Franklin with my wife in early 2012. We bought our first home in Fairview in 2014 and absolutely love our community here. We had our son Elijah in August of 2019. My mother, as of last year, is a retired teacher. I have watched and learned about her joys and struggles with the education system most of my life, and I understand how increasingly hard it is for good teachers. As a Loan Officer for the last 8 years, I love helping individuals and families fulfill their dreams of home ownership. I also co-own a networking company called Connect Nashville Business Networking with over 16,000+ small business professionals here in Middle TN. My family and I love our church family at One Church Home in Fairview and I serve there in the Worship Community and Men’s Ministry.

Tony for WCS School Board, District 1

I think we can take our WCS for granted and assume that we have the "best schools" and there are no issues. This is a mistake. Even though we have a lot to be proud of, WCS are not immune to the issues facing other school systems around the country. I hear from parents who have deep concerns with public education, and I understand where they’re coming from. I have a 4 year old son, and I want to ensure that sending him to WCS is the best decision I can make for him...not worry that I could have chosen a better option for his education. I want to help protect the conservative values of our constituents and ensure that WCS are a place that parents want to send their kids. Let's take WCS from good…to great!

“We need excellence in our schools, not equity.”

“Our kids are not for sale for a radical ideology.”

Advocacy

  • Empowering PARENTS to have a primary voice in their child’s education

  • Empowering GOOD TEACHERS to feel supported by their school administration and community

  • Empowering STUDENTS to achieve long term success by knowing how to read AND by reading and learning things with good academic value so they can grow and have flourishing lives

Issues

Safety

  • We must prioritize safety protocols and procedures for our schools. This includes hardening up our buildings with enhanced technology, having properly trained and armed safety officers at every school and other tools as well

  • We should do everything we can to keep our schools safe

Common Sense

  • From merit based pay increases for effective teachers, to keeping out radical ideologies that are harmful to our children and our schools, to creating a culture of discipline and excellence that allows teachers to effectively educate our students…these are common sense principles that can take our WCS from good to great!

Conservative Values

  • Moral foundations, fiscal responsibility, support of the nuclear family…protecting these values of Williamson County residents is so important, and why so many families are choosing to move here

  • I believe that CRT, Diversity/Equity/Inclusion and other radical ideologies have no place in our schools and curriculum

Transparency

  • Parents and taxpayers have a right to know what’s happening in our schools and classrooms

  • WCS have a responsibility to the taxpayers to fund things that directly impact our students, teachers, administrators and staff

  • We need accurate and current data from the administration that allows us to properly assess the issues facing WC
